The principles that guide every aspect of our congregation's work in Surrey and beyond
"The mission of the Clayton Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses is to share the Bible's message of hope and peace with all people in Surrey and surrounding communities, to strengthen families through moral and spiritual education, and to build a compassionate congregation that reflects love for God and neighbour."
The mission of the Clayton Congregation is not simply a statement on a page — it is the lived reality of over 100 men, women, and children who gather each week at 19119 67A Ave in Surrey to encourage one another and share what they have learned from the Bible.
Our congregation has served the Clayton neighbourhood of Surrey for more than four decades, witnessing marriages strengthened, families reunited, and individuals find genuine peace through the practical wisdom contained in God's Word. The Bible's message is timeless, but its application to everyday life — to parenting challenges, workplace stress, grief, loneliness, and questions about the future — is what we bring directly to our community.
We reach out not because we are required to, but because we genuinely believe the Bible's message changes lives. Every family that learns to communicate more lovingly, every person who finds comfort in grief, every young person who develops a moral compass — these are the expressions of our mission fulfilled in Surrey.
"We envision a community where every person has access to the hope found in God's Word, where families are strengthened, and where neighbours support one another with genuine care and kindness — a Surrey where peace and understanding flourish."
Surrey is one of the fastest-growing cities in Canada, with a rich diversity of cultures, languages, and backgrounds. Our vision is to be a congregation that reflects and celebrates that diversity while uniting people around a common source of hope — the Bible.
We envision a future where the practical wisdom of Scripture is accessible to every person in our community, regardless of their cultural background, language, or previous religious experience. To that end, we conduct Bible studies and meetings in multiple languages, including English, Punjabi, Tagalog, and Mandarin.
Our vision is also deeply family-centred. Across Canada, family breakdown is a growing concern. We believe the Bible's guidance on marriage, parenting, and communication offers proven solutions to these challenges. We envision Surrey families — of every background — experiencing the joy and stability that comes from applying these principles.
Five foundational values shape everything the Clayton Congregation does — in our meetings, our outreach, and our daily lives.
We hold the Bible to be the inspired Word of God and the ultimate authority for faith and conduct. Every program and teaching is grounded in Scripture.
Genuine love for our neighbours motivates us to serve the broader Surrey community in practical, meaningful ways — not just in words but in action.
Strong families form the foundation of a healthy community. We provide resources and guidance to help families build deeper bonds of love and trust.
We respect people of all backgrounds and faiths. Our congregation is politically neutral and committed to peace and goodwill in our community.
Knowledge of the Bible should never be restricted by financial means. All of our educational programs, literature, and study sessions are provided completely free of charge.
At the Clayton Congregation, every teaching, every program, and every piece of guidance we offer is tested against the standard of Scripture. We believe the Bible is not merely a collection of ancient stories, but a living guide with timely wisdom for the 21st century.
Our midweek and weekend meetings are structured around systematic Bible education. Members and visitors alike are encouraged to examine the Scriptures for themselves, to ask questions freely, and to arrive at their own conclusions through personal study. We do not ask anyone to accept teachings without examining the Biblical evidence firsthand.
This commitment to Biblical accuracy means we take the text seriously — its history, its context, and its practical applications. Our congregation publishes no official interpretations separate from Scripture itself; the Bible remains the sole authority for all that we teach and practise.
Community service is not an occasional event for our congregation — it is a lifestyle. From assisting elderly neighbours with practical tasks, to organizing neighbourhood beautification efforts, to providing disaster relief support through the international JW relief network, our members look for daily opportunities to express genuine love for their community.
Family strengthening is equally central to our identity. Research consistently shows that strong families produce healthier communities. The Clayton Congregation provides regular programs addressing communication in marriage, the challenges of raising teenagers in the digital age, conflict resolution based on Biblical principles, and the spiritual care of children at every developmental stage.
We believe that when families thrive, Surrey thrives. Our free family education resources are available to anyone in the community — regardless of religious background — because stronger families benefit everyone.
Attend one of our weekly meetings or request a free personal Bible study. Everyone is welcome — no prior experience or religious background required.
