Over four decades of faith, service, and community in Surrey, British Columbia
The Clayton Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses was established in Surrey, British Columbia in the early 1980s, as the Clayton neighbourhood began its transformation into one of the fastest-growing communities in Metro Vancouver. What began as a small group of dedicated Bible students gathering in homes has grown into a vibrant congregation of more than 100 active members from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Today, the congregation meets at its Kingdom Hall at 19119 67A Ave, Surrey — a welcoming facility that has served as a hub for Bible education, family programmes, and community outreach for decades. The hall is maintained entirely by congregation volunteers and is open to the public for all scheduled meetings and events.
The congregation holds registered charity status in Canada under Registry ID 765812714RR0001, in accordance with federal guidelines governing religious non-profit organizations. As a registered charity, we operate with full transparency and accountability, committed to the highest standards of community stewardship.
Our congregation reflects the beautiful multicultural character of Surrey itself — members from dozens of countries united by a shared love of the Bible.
Our congregation includes families who have lived in Surrey for generations alongside newly arrived immigrants from South Asia, Southeast Asia, East Africa, and Latin America. This diversity is a source of great strength — it means our Bible study programmes are available in multiple languages, and our congregation has firsthand understanding of the challenges facing newcomers to Canada.
Members of the Clayton Congregation are electricians, teachers, nurses, tradespeople, retirees, and students. What unites us is not profession or background but a shared commitment to living by Biblical principles and sharing that commitment with others.
We meet twice weekly — on Tuesday evenings and Sunday mornings — and maintain an active calendar of community service initiatives throughout the year. Visitors are genuinely welcome at all meetings; there is no dress code requirement beyond modest attire, and no collection plate is ever passed.
Jesus summarized the entire law in two commands: love God and love your neighbour. Our congregation takes this seriously — members actively look for practical ways to help those around them, from shovelling a neighbour's driveway to visiting the isolated elderly.
We believe education rooted in the Bible has the power to transform individuals, families, and communities. Our free study programmes are designed to make Biblical wisdom accessible to people of every background — with no academic prerequisites and no cost.
The family is the foundational unit of society. We provide ongoing education in marriage communication, parenting, youth development, and care for elderly family members — drawing on timeless Biblical principles that have proven effective across cultures.
